IC Testing & Counterfeit Detection Service
Retronix has not only seen a significant growth of customer requirements for our testing services, but alarmingly, the quantity of counterfeit chips and suspicious components that we are detecting has risen significantly also. During any time of shortage, we observe a spike however, the severity of this particular supply crisis has dramatically worsened the counterfeit chip problem. Retronix has a test department dedicated to the identification of counterfeit parts along with the best tools for this process. We also have years of experience earned from dealing with this issue for numerous customer in varying industry sectors.
Component Reclaim
At Retronix, we have been recovering components from PCBs and returning to a ‘like new’ condition for 30 years now. Operating to IPC-9592 STD, our leading technology, delivers the safest recovery and refurbishment service in the industry. Retronix will remove your valuable components and combine our rework, re-tinning, re-balling, ICOS coplanarity testing, electrical testing, and re-packaging services, to safely recover the parts ready for your new builds.
Alloy Refresh & Conversion
If you have uncovered devices tucked away in storage, you may find that the components have become oxidised due to improper handling. Retronix will undertake a sample solderability test to find out if your parts are useable, if not, we can refresh the alloy and return the components to a good ‘as new condition. To finish, we bake and repack, resetting the clock and MSL level. All while conforming to the GEIA-STD-0003A.
Lead Alignment Inspection & Straightening
Poor storage and handling can cause severe component leg damage that you may fear is beyond repair. Or so you may think. Retronix will undertake ICOS inspection to evaluate the condition of the terminations, if damaged, we will carry out a lead straightening procedure to return your components to a good “as new” condition.
Interposer Solutions
You may be able to find a suitable component for your application, but not in the correct footprint for their assembly. Retronix can help assist with this problem using a bespoke interposer service. The top side of the interposer would match the component you can source, and the underside would match the footprint of your PCB.
